Guidelines to Help Estimate the Initial Payment Required
Here are the ranges of initial payments we require common to these matters. These are not retainers, but flat fees. These are only guidelines and your case may be more or less, depending upon your specific facts and case history.
Uncontested Divorces:
- Uncontested divorce without children and without property: $2,500 – $3,500
- Uncontested divorce with children or with property: $3,500 – $5,500
- Uncontested divorce with substantial assets: $5,500 – $10,500
Contested Divorces, up to and including Mediation:
- Contested divorce without children or without property: $8,500 – $12,500
- Contested divorce with children or with property: $8,500 – $15,500
- Contested divorce with child custody and property disputes: $15,500 -$25,500
- High asset, marital estate over $500,000: $25,500 – $55,500
Other Cases, up to an including Mediation:
- Establishment of Paternity: $8,500 – $12,500
- Modification of Child Custody/Child Support/Time Sharing: $8,500 -$15,500
Additional Fees:
- Injunctions: $2,500 – $4,500
- Depositions: $1,000 – $2,500
- Motions for Contempt: $3,500 – $5,500
- Trials: $5,000 – $7,500 per day of trial
